Online Privacy and Security Policy

Mozambique Outreach and MozAid Inc trading as Mission Educate

Mozambique Outreach & MozAid Inc have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to respect and honour our supporters, our sponsored children and their families, and our sponsored adults, by treating each person courteously, fairly and protecting their privacy.

Mozambique Outreach & MozAid Inc assures you that the identity of all who contact us through this Mission Educate website is kept confidential: we do not rent, sell, or exchange our mailing lists and we will always strive to be responsible in our management, truthful in our advertising, and cost-effective in our fund raising. We have been ministering to the Mozambican people since 1999 and are continually working to ensure every dollar is used to its fullest for this purpose. Anything less would violate the trust we keep with you, with the children, families, and communities we serve, and most importantly, with God.

We are committed to the highest standard of stewardship excellence. If you make a donation towards a specific project, every effort will be made to honour any designation of preference you have stated. In certain circumstances, where a project is overfunded or cannot be carried out in accordance with your preference, the funds will be used for similar projects approved by the Board of Directors.

Our site uses securely encrypted sponsor response forms for those who would like to partner with us in child or education sponsorship programs, or by making donations. We have put in place procedural, physical and electronic means to safeguard the personal information of our supporters. All your submitted contact information, unique identifiers (such as sponsor ID), and financial information (such as a credit card or direct debit details) are accessible only to a small number of trusted Mozambique Outreach/MozAid staff who have been specially trained in processing this information. Contact information from these response forms is used to process donations, provide receipts and other information to keep you informed about our programs and updated about any people that you are supporting. The supporter's contact information is also used to get in touch with the supporter, when necessary, in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the sponsor for donations pledged. Unique identifiers (such as a Sponsor ID) may be collected from website visitors to assist in matching current donation information with donor history in our record systems.

All response forms requesting confidential information (such as credit card numbers or banking details) on this Mission Educate Web site utilize the Internet security protocol known as "Secure Sockets Layer" or "SSL." This is a certification and encryption technology designed to make sending financial information as safe as possible on the Internet.

Independent agencies report that (statistically speaking) using a credit card on the internet through SSL is far safer than submitting your credit card to make a purchase in the grocery store, or over an open telephone line.

The SSL technology depends on secure Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) which are certified by a certifying authority. Secure URLs always begin with "https://" rather than "http://" and if you are using one from a browser that recognizes SSL (including Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL's version 3, and Spyglass, among others) you will generally also receive a preceding message and/or see a symbol, such as a lock, that signifies that you are on a secure page. Any information you enter on such a page is encrypted at your browser, sent over the internet in encrypted form, then de-encrypted at our servers. The processing of credit cards and direct debits is done using this encryption system over a secure link to our bank. If your browser doesn't support SSL technology, you will receive an error message when trying to access our SSL page. Please contact us by phone or email so that we can assist you further.
